5 of a family burnt in N’ganj gas cylinder blast

Five members of a family have been burnt in a fire that broke out from gas cylinder explosion at their house in Narayanganj’s Rupganj upazila.

The incident occurred at 11pm on Friday (November 3).

The burnt are Hasna Banu, 55, his husband Ali Ahmed, 65, son Omar Faruk, 18, daughter Sahara Begum, 24, and Hasna Banu’s brother Shona Uddin, 45. They are currently undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery.

Doctors at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery said Hasna Banu was admitted with 46 per cent burn injuries, Shona Uddin with 90 per cent burn injuries, Omar Faruk with 15 per cent burn injuries, Sahara Begum with 30 per cent burn injuries and Ali Ahmed with 58 per cent burn injuries.
