13 parties participate in EC dialogue

The Election Commission (EC) has started a dialogue with all registered political parties ahead of the upcoming general election.
As part of the initiative, a total of 22 parties including the Awami League were scheduled to attend the dialogue on Saturday. But representatives of 13 parties participated in it.
The dialogue started at 10:00am at Nirbachan Bhaban in the city. A two-member delegation led by Awami League presidium member Lt. Col. (retired) Faruq Khan participated in it.
Representatives from Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP), Islami Oikya Jote, Gano Front, Nationalist Front (BNF), Trinamool BNP, Bangladesh Congress, Nationalist Awami Party, Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM), Insaniat Biplob Bangladesh, Islami Front Bangladesh, National People’s Party (NPP) and Ganaforum participated in a dialogue.
LDP, BJP, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Democratic Party, Muslim League BML, Muslim League, Kalyan Party and Khilafat Majlis did not participate in the dialogue.
The EC invited two top leaders-president and secretary-or two of their representatives from each party for the dialogue.
44 registered political parties have been divided into two groups for holding the dialogue in two parts.
