Bus set on fire in Banasree, driver burnt

Miscreants have set a passenger bus of Achim Paribahan on fire in Banasree area of the capital on Sunday, first day of the two-day blockade programme called by BNP and Jamaat.

Sobuj, 30, passenger of the bus, was burnt in this connection. He was the driver of a bus of Ramjan Paribahan.

Burnt Sobuj, son of Sultan Mia, is from Mymensingh district but a resident of the capital’s Merul Badda.

Sobuj was admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Being informed, I rushed to the spot and brought Sobuj to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said Rasheda Begum, wife of Sobuj.

Md Tariqul, resident doctor of the institute, said Sobuj was admitted with 28 per cent burns and undergoing treatment at the emergency department.
