The High Court (HC) has granted anticipatory bail for BNP leader Adv Jaynul Abedin, Adv Nitai Roy Chowdhury, and joint secretary general Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon in a case over the attack on the residence of Chief Justice.
An HC bench of Justice Abu Taher Mohammad Saifur Rahman and Justice Md Bashir Ullah passed the bail order on Tuesday (November 7).
The BNP leaders were also asked to surrender in the court after four weeks. However, this bail order cannot be used as a reference for anticipatory bail of other accused in the case.
On October 28, BNP men allegedly attacked the residence of the chief justice, breaking down one of the gates. Later, Police Inspector Mofizur Rahman of Ramna police station filed the case.
