By-polls to B’baria-2, Lakshmipur-3 constituencies on Nov 5

The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for the by-elections to the Brahmanbaria-2 and Lakshmipur-3 constituencies.

As per the schedule, the by-elections to these two constituencies will be held on November 5.

The Election Commission announced the schedule in a meeting of the commission at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Tuesday (October 3).

EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath confirmed the information.

Earlier on October 1, a circular was published declaring these two seats vacant. 

MP Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan from Brahmanbaria-2 constituency and MP AKM Shahjahan Kamal from Lakshmipur-3 constituency died on September 30 at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
