Risingbd Desk: With men becoming more conscious about how they look and how they are looked at, they are increasingly turning to women for assistance on what to wear on their first date, reveals a new survey.
The survey, conducted by content-meets-commerce lifestyle platform LimeRoad and dating app Truly Madly, was done to find out how style conscious men want to look on their first date.
From a sample size of 2,000, about 60 per cent men showed inclination on having a stylist of the opposite sex when getting ready for that special date, whereas, 40 per cent of respondents shared that they would like their female friends to guide them through.
These are men who want to look stylish when going out with that special someone for a romantic evening. For this reason, they have even opened up to seek expert help rather than sticking with their age-old wardrobe staples.
“Generation Y is very keen on exploring, be it dating preferences or individual style. The fundamental problem is style discovery, where LimeRoad & Truly Madly come into play. LimeRoad’s user generated platform resolves the issue, wherein anyone can discover their style and delightful products with the Scrapbook Looks. These looks are basically virtual stylists, one can mix & match products for different moods and occasions.” says Suchi Mukherjee, Founder and CEO, LimeRoad.
No one wants to look dull and mess it up on their first date hence it was important to hear it from the horse’s mouth to reach an apt solution.
“Fashion isn’t just a woman’s prerogative. Men are equally, if not more, conscious about their signature style. TrulyMadly constantly strives to help users with everything related to dating- so when LimeRoad suggested that we ask women to create date looks for men using their new collection, we went for it and over 6,000 date looks were created over 2 days.
"Needless to say, the TrulyMadly man loves to experiment and is open to feedback- which is why the looks were such a hit with our base” says Sachin Bhatia, Co-founder and CEO, TrulyMadly.
