PM opens Patenga container terminal

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the newly-built Patenga container terminal (PCT) at the Chattogram port.

The premier opened the project officially through a virtual program around 11:00am on Tuesday (November 14).

Meanwhile, Sheikh Hasina also unveiled the masterplan of the Bay Terminal.

Member of the parliament MA Latif, National Parliament Whip Shamsul Hague Chowdhury MP, Chittagong Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral M Sohail and other top officials attended the program.

Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) Secretary Md Omar Faruk said following the inauguration, Patenga Container Terminal now can accommodate vessels of 10 meters draft. Besides, it is close to the estuary so that containers can be transported quickly.
