No scope for dialogue: Obaidul Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that Election Commission will announce the schedule at any time. So, there is no time for dialogue now.

Obaidul Quader said this while replying to reporters after a meeting with US Ambassador Peter Haas at the secretariat on Wednesday (15 November).

He said that US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu sent a letter. US Ambassador Peter Haas visited me to deliver the letter today. I have received and read the letter, and it is about holding free, fair and neutral election.

In reply to a question, he also said that no political party in the country who believes in democracy can avoid dialogue. Election Commission will announce the schedule at any time. So, there is no chance of conflict with BNP during this period. There is no such time. When we asked them for unconditional dialogue. They did not agree to that.
