BNP calls 48-hour hartal

The BNP has announced a 48-hour hartal across the country from Sunday (November 19) morning in protest against the schedule for the next parliamentary election announced by the Election Commission (EC).

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the program at a virtual press conference on Thursday afternoon.

The hartal blockade will be effective from 6am on Sunday to 6am on Tuesday.  He also urged the people to observe the hartal.

On Wednesday, the Election Commission (EC) announced that the 12th parliamentary election will be held on January 7 in 2024.
