“No scope to change decision regarding independent aspirants”

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that despite objections from the alliance and discomfort from the party candidates, there is no chance to change the decision regarding independent candidates.

The AL leader said this while addressing a press briefing at Awami League president’s political office in Dhanmondi on Tuesday noon (December 12).

He said there is no alternative of competition. There is no opportunity to join polls without contest.

Obaidul Quader also said that BNP has become a threat to the country's elections and democracy. So, the overall democracy of the country is facing a crisis.

Awami League joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing secretary BM Mozammel Haque, SM Kamal Hossain, Suzid Roy Nandi and others attended the press briefing.
