AL gives up 26 seats for JP, 6 for alliance partners

The Awami League has given up 26 constituencies including Dhaka-18 for the Jatiya Party (JP) and six for its alliance partners in the upcoming 12th parliamentary election, slated for January 7.

The ruling party is withdrawing candidacy of its candidates from these seats. The independent candidates will, however, contest the polls.

AL’s deputy office secretary Sayem Khan confirmed giving up seats on Sunday (December 17).
