EC acts independently and authoritatively: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader said the electoral code of conduct is being maintained strictly as the Election Commission (EC) is able to play its role independently and authoritatively.

He made the remark while addressing a press conference at the party president’s political office in Dhanmondi on Wednesday (January 3).

Quader said wherever the electoral code of conduct is being violated, the EC is taking action. There is no interference or obstruction from the government, and Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is firm on this matter, he said.

The AL veteran leader said the world is going to witness a great election in Bangladesh on January 7 with the spontaneous presence of people, where the public opinion will emerge victorious.
