Mashrafe, four others becoming Whip of Jatiya Sangsad 

Five lawmakers including Mashrafe bin Mortaza, who has been elected from Narail-2 constituency, are becoming whip of the Jatiya Sangsad.

The other four whips are- Abu Saeed Swapan, Iqbalur Rahim, Nazrul Islam Babu and Saimum Sarwar Kamal.

According to sources in the Parliament Secretariat, a gazette may be published on Monday (January 22). 

They will now get the status of state minister. 

According to the Bangladesh (Whips) Order of 1972, the President appoints a Chief Whip and other Whips in Parliament.
