BNP announces new programme

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a leaflet distribution and mass contact programme on March 9 in protest against hike in commodity, power, gas and energy prices.

BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced this at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Wednesday.

In the last 14 years, the price of electricity increased by 130 percent  as the government hiked it 13 times,  he alleged.

“The price of daily commodities has been increasing before the month of Ramadan because the ruling party syndicates have become more brazen”, he said.
