Every killing to be judicially investigated: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that every killing related to the violence centering the quota reform movement will undergo judicial investigation.

The AL leader said this while addressing a press conference at Dhanmandi in the capital on Friday noon (July 26).

Obaidul Quader said that we believe that no ordinary student can carry out such killing. We don't support any unwanted death.

Regarding the demands of the students involved in the movement, Quader said: "All the demands of the students have been accepted, and a notification has been issued. We have always supported the demands of the students."

"Those who betrayed and killed people during the Liberation War in 1971 are still traitors.... And those who killed people in 1971, 1975, 2004 and 2024 are the same killers," he added, saying they are BNP-Jamaat men.

Quader said they (BNP-Jamaat) killed students in the name of movement and put its responsibility on the government.

BNP-Jamaat men carried out unprecedented destruction and attacks leaving several thousands of AL men and police personnel injured, he said.

AL presidium members Dr Abdur Razzaque, Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin and Jahangir Kabir Nanak, joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, organising secretaries Ahmad Hossain, BM Mozammel Haque, Mirza Azam, SM Kamal Hossain, Afzal Hossain and Sujit Roy Nandi, office secretary Biplab Barua, publicity and publication secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, and central committee members Sahabuddin Faraji, Iqbal Hossain Apu and Anisul Haque were, among others, were present at the press conference.
