BNP seeks roadmap for election

A new round of political dialogue of the interim government led by Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus with the political parties began on Saturday (October 5).
The dialogue between the council of advisers and political parties commenced at the State Guest House Jamuna at 2:30 pm.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and some major political parties attended on the first day.
At the dialogue, BNP placed a series of demands including a roadmap for holding the next election.
Their other demands include a legal action against former chief justice ABM Khairul Haque, scrapping some contractual appointments of bureaucrats. etc.
BNP also demanded the suspension of the Election Commission Appointment Act, and formation of a new election commission immediately based on the consensus of major political parties.
Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan and Salahuddin Ahmed were among the members of the BNP delegation.
