Khaleda to travel to London in first half of January

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will travel to London in the first half of January for advanced medical treatment, said her personal physician and BNP Standing Committee member AZM Zahid Hossain.

AZM Zahid Hossain said preparations are underway to take her to the UK in the first half of January, following the advice of the medical board.

However, the exact date is not fixed yet. It will be announced in due course, he added.

The former prime minister will go to London in a plane equipped with modern medical facilities. A team of doctors, some family members and the chairperson's personal assistants will also accompany her.

She will first go to London to visit her son Tarique Rahman. After staying there for a few days, she will go to the US for treatment of liver complications.
