Dr Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has said the public will not accept the rehabilitation of Awami League.
He also urged all to stay vigilant, calm, and united in protecting the nation’s independence and sovereignty.
Shafiqur Rahman made the call through a Facebook post on Friday morning (March 21).
He said, "Bangladesh is passing a significant phase in its history. After a long period of fascist rule, the country received a new Bangladesh following the events of 24-36 July."
He wrote, "The 18 crore oppressed people of Bangladesh want justice for the genocide, rehabilitation for the families of martyrs from the 2024 uprising, proper medical treatment for injured and disabled students, youth, and freedom-seeking people, and thorough reform of issues created during the previous 15 years in preparation for a proper election. At this time, the people want to see justice for the genocide as a priority. There is no opportunity to think about anything else beyond this."
