JP nominates Rezowan, Shamim for by-polls

Senior Correspondent: Jatiya Party (JP) led by HM Ershad has decided to participate in Brahmanbaria-1 (Nasirnagar) and Gaibandha-1 (Sundarganj) by-polls.

The party has nominated Rezowan Ahmed for Brahmanbaria-1 while Barrister Shamim Haider Patwari for Gaibandha-1.

Hussain Muhammad Ershad as the party chairman nominated them for the by-polls.

According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission (EC), the by-polls are scheduled to be held on March 13.

The deadline for submission of nomination papers is February 14 while the date for scrutiny is February 16. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is February 23.
