Khaleda to get bail on Sunday, Moudud hopes

Staff Correspondent: BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed expected that the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia will secure bail on the upcoming Sunday.

The BNP stalwart came up with the hope while speaking at a programme at Conference Lounge of the National Press Club in the capital on Friday.

Moudud said, "We filed an appeal petition seeking bail to Khaleda Zia. Hearing on it will be held on Sunday.  She has right to get bail in the case."

"According to the rules and regulations, Khaleda Zia will secure bail on the day," he added.

He said, "We had waited with patience for certified copy of the verdict for filing the appeal petition. Finally, they (government) provided it. Still, the government delayed to grant bail to her following different tricks."

"People of Bangladesh want change. This is their desire and BNP will stage demonstration to fulfill their expectations," Moudud said.

"We have to stage demonstration and it will be success," he said.

Moudud said, "We will show that how the government is forced to hold a free and fair election through peaceful demonstration. Country's political image will turn when BNP will start election campaign in the field as no people want this government sticking with power."
