BNP’s countrywide protest procession Monday

Senior Correspondent: BNP announced a countrywide protest procession on Monday protesting the foiling of its black flag showing programme and demanding release of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is now in jail after being convicted in a graft case.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the announcement at a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan office in the capital on Saturday noon.

Earlier in the day, BNP leaders and activists tried to gather in front of their Nayapaltan central office to stage their scheduled black flag showing programme but police foiled the programme.

The programme was announced protesting the denial of permission to hold a rally in the city.
