BNP protests chance for MPs election campaign

Senior Correspondent: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has termed the amendment of Election Campaign Conduct Rules, giving chances to lawmakers for campaign in city corporation polls, as a deep conspiracy.

The party claimed that it will harm the level-playing field. It is an extreme treason to voters. Through this, the ability of making people's final decision in the election was stuck.

The party also demanded cancellation of the amendment immediately.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of BNP, came up with the observations in a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Saturday noon.

He claimed that the Election Commission (EC) has made the amendment to benefit the ruling party men. The chief election commission (CEC) is silently working to make the election system a one-sided field for the ruling party. He does not want any fair, free and neutral polls in the country.
