BNP should replace Moudud: Law Minister

Staff Correspondent: Law Minister Anisul Huq said BNP should replace its standing committee member Moudud Ahmed within the party.

Anisul Huq came up with the reaction after Moudud demanded resignation of the Law Minister and the Home Minister over the attack on Daily Amar Desh acting Editor Mahmudur Rahman in Kushtia court premises on July 22.

Law Minister was addressing in the opening ceremony of dispute settlement workshop at the Judicial Administration Training Institute in the capital on Thursday.

Anisul Huq said, “You might have remembered that a serial bomb blast was carried out in every judge court across the country while Moudud was then Law Minister. Two judges were killed in the attack. But he (Moudud) did not resign after the incident. Now he is habituated in babble. I think BNP should replace him.”

He said, “The attack on Mahmudur Rahman in Kushtia was an incident of arranged drama. BNP accused local BCL unit for the incident. But they strongly denied the allegation.

In reply to a query, the Minister said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will clear about the outline of the election-time government in time. The time has not yet come. October is still far away. I can assure you that PM will confirm you about the matter on due time.”
