‘We have nothing to do’

Staff Correspondent: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said, “It’s the jurisdiction of election commission to the nomination paper cancel. We have nothing to do.”

The AL secretary general made the assertion while addressing a press conference at Dhanmondi in the capital on Monday morning.

Obaidul Quader said, “Nomination can be cancelled under the law of Election Commission. The government is not related with this matter.”

“We do not want to contest the election unilaterally creating anything. Democracy is a cycle of two wheels. One wheel is ruling party and another wheel is opposition party. People will decide who will stay in power. We want an acceptable election,” he said.
