Bipu ashamed of attack on Gayeshwar

Senior Correspondent: Citing the incident of yesterday’s attack on BNP candidate Gayeshwar Chandra Roy as ‘undesired’, Awami League candidate for Dhaka-3 constituency Nasrul Hamid Bipu said that he was ashamed of the unwanted attack.
“Those who carried out the attack on him should be punished. Three suspects have been arrested in this connection,” he said.
Nasrul Hamid Bipu, also state minister for power, energy and mineral resources, on Wednesday visited his opponent BNP candidate Gayeshwar Chandra Roy who sustained injuries in an attack during electioneering on Tuesday in Keraniganj.
He went to Gayeshwar’s office in city’s Nayapaltan area around 11:30 am.
Earlier on Tuesday, BNP leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and 24 other BNP leaders and activists sustained injured in an attack reportedly carried out by ruling party men during electioneering at Chunkutia in South Keraniganj.
