AL to celebrate Dec 30 as ‘victory day of democracy’

The ruling Awami League (AL) is set to celebrate December 30 as victory day of democracy across the country.

AL general secretary Obaidul Quader came up with the disclosure in a briefing at the party president Sheikh Hasina’s political office in the capital’s Dhanmondi on Sunday.

He said a rally will be held in front of the party office at the capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue around 3:00pm on Monday. Dhaka Metropolitan (North and South) will jointly arranged the programme.

Besides, leaders and activists will celebrate victory day of democracy in different ward, union parishad, upazila and districts.

Awami League secured a landslide victory in the parliamentary polls held on December 30, 2018 for the third time in a row.
