MPs won’t seek vote

Members of Parliament (MPs) will not be able to seek vote for their candidates in the upcoming Dhaka city polls, but they will be able to participate in the political programmes in the area.

Coordinator of Awami League-nominated candidates for Dhaka North City Corporation polls Tafail Ahmed said this while talking to the journalists after a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda at the Election Commission Building at Agargaon in the city on Saturday.

A delegation of Awami League led by Tafail Ahmed began a meeting with Election Commission around 11.30am.

Tafail Ahmed said “We want an acceptable election and for this we want to cooperate the Election Commission”.
