Ishraq announces 13-point manifesto

BNP’s mayoral candidate for the upcoming Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) polls Engineer Ishraq Hossain has announced his manifesto.
The BNP mayoral aspirant formally rolled out the manifesto at a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club Auditorium on Tuesday.
Ishraq in his manifesto outlined 144 proposals under 13 points where public amenities, social works and public safety got focus.
He vowed to work for reducing traffic congestion, to improve education sector, and build a pollution-free capital.
Ishraq said he will take steps to ensure the rights and security of citizens if he is elected the DNCC mayor.
He said the incumbent government and mayors have failed to handle the mosquito issue.
His other pledges include making Dhaka friendlier to women, children and physically-challenged people, ensuring security, safe water and food, improving disaster management, preventing crimes and corruption.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Mir Abbas, former Dhaka University Vice-chancellor Dr. Emajuddin, Oikya Front leaders ASM Abdur Rab, Mahamudur Rahman, Dr Jafrullah and Dr Reza Kibria were also present.
