Don’t pay heed to rumours, Quader to people

Awami League (AL) General Secretary, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has urged the countrymen not to pay heed to any rumour centering the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

He made the urge while speaking at a press conference at the AL president’s Dhanmondi political office in the capital on Sunday.

Quader said it could be learnt from the past history that the country’s people always tackled all kinds of disasters by keeping their patience and playing responsible roles.

He said Awami League always consider the emotion of the country’s people in politics.

The AL general secretary said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving instructions round-the-clock to the authorities concerned in tacking the coronavirus crisis and has already taken short- and long-term plans in this regard.

He assured that the prime minister and AL leaders and activists will remain beside the country’s people and the government will continue its programmes until the crisis ends.

“Remaining alert against coronavirus, we all have to follow the health guidelines to prevent the deadly virus,” Quader said.
