Khaleda Zia recovers from coronavirus infections

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has recovered from coronavirus infections 27 days after she tested positive for the virus on April 11.
Dr FM Siddique, a member of the medical board formed for Khaleda Zia’s treatment, confirmed this to risingbd.
“With this, Khaleda Zia has been tested thrice for coronavirus. This time, she tested negative for the virus,” Dr FM Siddique said.
On April 11, Khaleda Zia and eight staff at her residence tested positive for coronavirus. Later on April 24, the BNP chief again tested Covid-19 positive. Afterwards, she was admitted to Evercare hospital in the capital on April 27.
On May 3, the BNP chairperson was shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the hospital after she had complained of breathing problems. At present, she is undergoing treatment at the CCU of the hospital. A 10-member medical board, led by cardiologist Dr Shahabuddin Talukder, is overseeing Khaleda’s treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Khaleda Zia’s family has applied to the government seeking permission to send her abroad for better treatment which is now under process.
