AL active to prevent blockade

The ruling Awami League and its associate bodies are holding processions and rallies after taking to streets with an aim to build strong resistance against BNP-Jamaat’s hartal-blockade, terrorism and subversive activities in the protection of peoples’ lives and properties.

AL leaders and activists claimed that they have basically occupied the streets on first day of the three-day blockade programme announced by BNP and Jamaat.

They are holding peaceful processions across the country in protest against BNP-Jamaat’s hartal-blockade, terrorism and subversive activities.

Party leaders and activists started gathering in front of the party’s central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital since the morning. Their number increased as the day advances.

Leaders said they are observing peaceful sit-in programmes and are ready to prevent any subversive activity of BNP-Jamaat.
