Santu Larma urges govt not to obstruct 10-point demand

Staff Correspondent: President of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma (Santu Larma) has urged the government not to obstruct the organisation`s prescheduled 10-point demand programme for implementation of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Peace Accord.

He said,"19 years have already passed after the Peace Accord was signed. I cannot expect any more over implementing it. I cannot believe someone`s assurance over the issue, even not of Prime Minister`s one."

Santu Larma came up with the call while speaking at a programme marking 19 years anniversary of CHT peace accord at a hotel in the capital on Friday.

"Every single point of the demands is implementable. I am not aware of the government`s language to obstruct the movement for forcing the implementation of the demands, but I firmly believe if government uses arms to foil the demands, the hill situation must worsen," added.
