600 students to be appointed as traffic police assistants

600 students injured in the July-August mass uprising will be appointed as traffic police assistants in the capital. Each of them will get Tk 560 every day. The Ministry of Finance has given its consent to a proposal of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs in this regard.
The traffic police assistants will work in two shifts for 4 hours a day till June 30. The total cost in 245 days will be 8 crore 23 lakh 20 thousand taka.
Meanwhile, Home Adviser Lt Gen (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury yesterday announced to initiate the process of recruiting 100 injured in the July-August mass uprising in the police force.
“We have decided to take 100 injured (in July-August uprising) in the police force. We will start the process soon. We are going to start with 100 injured for now and later we will increase the number. We will also do it in all the other departments under my ministry,” he said while speaking to the journalists after visiting the Special Branch (SB) and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters here.
