Dhaka Central Jail inmate dies at DMCH

An inmate of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj died early Saturday (February 24) while he was undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The deceased was known as Md Nadim, 30, son of late Abdul Jabbar. His prison number is 4085/23.

Prison guard Mohammad Rashed said Nadim fell sick at Dhaka Central Jail around 6 am.

Later, jail guards took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 11:00 am for treatment, but the doctor on duty declared him dead after an examination.

Confirming the matter, DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Md Bachchu Mia said that the body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

The body will be handed over to its relatives after autopsy, he added.
