Demonstration at Secretariat, 53 HSC students detained 

Several hundred students entered the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon, demanding revaluation of recently published HSC results and its equivalent examinations. 

Students entered the Secretariat, breaking the police barricade at around 2:59pm. 

Later, they gathered in front of the ministry of education and started demonstration. 

Law enforcers arrested 53 HSC students from the Secretariat. 

Initially, the on-duty law enforcers requested them to leave their positions in the Secretariat.

As they declined to move, security personnel charged on them, beating some with batons.

Many of the protesting students were forced to leave the Secretariat, but a section got locked in on the premises.
