New student organization floated 

The Students Against Discrimination has officially launched a new student organisation named ‘Bangladesh Gonotantrik Chhatro Sangsad’.

Coordinators of Students Against Discrimination announced the name at a press conference at the Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University on Wednesday (26 February) afternoon.

Abu Baker Majumder has been made convener and Jahid Ahsan member secretary.

Touhid Mohammad Siam has been made senior joint convener of the convening committee, Rifat Rashid the senior member secretary, Tahmid Al Muddasir Chowdhury the chief organizer and Ashrefah Khatun the spokesperson of the organization.

Earlier, a commotion ensued in front of Madhur Canteen as a group of private university students obstructed announcement of the new committee, demanding their representatives.

The organization also announced the Dhaka University (DU) committee, where Abdul Kader has been named as Convener, and Mahir Alam as Member Secretary. 

Other key members of the DU committee include Limon Mahmud Hasan as Senior Joint Convener, Al Amin Sarkar as Senior Joint Member Secretary, Hasib Al Islam as Chief Organizer, and Rafia Rehnuma Hridi as the Spokesperson.
