India set 398-run target for New Zealand in 1st semi-final

India set a massive target of 398 runs for New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 being played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai of India on Wednesday (November 15).

Earlier, India won the toss and chose to bat first against New Zealand in the first semi-final.

India scored 397 runs in stipulated 50 overs losing four wickets, thanks to the brilliant innings of Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer. Kohli scored 117 runs from 113 balls, Gill scored 80 runs from 66 balls and Shreyas scored 105 runs from 70 balls.

New Zealand (XI): Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson (captain), Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Tom Latham (wicketkeeper), Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult.

India (XI): Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj.
