Kohli breaks Sachin’s record for most hundreds

Virat Kohli has broken the record of legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar by hitting the most centuries in ODI cricket history.

The Indian veteran batter got the record-highest 50 ODI hundreds and climbed up to the top of the list of centurions.

Dropped on 107, Virat Kohli scored 117 in the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand in Mumbai on Wednesday.

This was Kohli's 279th ODI innings, with the former India captain having also scored a further 71 fifties in addition to his 50 hundreds.

Earlier, the record for scoring the highest century in ODI cricket was occupied by Sachin Tendulkar. He hit a total of 49 hundreds playing 452 ODI innings from 463 matches.

Another Indian batter Rohit Sharma is holding the third position on the list getting 31 ODI hundreds and Australian legendary batter Ricky Ponting is in the fourth place.
