Bangladesh football team secured a creditable 1-1 draw against Lebanon to earn their first point in the World Cup qualifying at Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka Tuesday.
Majed Osman gave the visitors the lead in the 67th minute. Sheikh Mursalin scored a screamer to equalise the match for men in red and green just five minutes later.
Bangladesh wasted a number of good opportunities in the first half but were under severe pressure after the break before Morsalin's equaliser raised their spirit.
Bangladesh made a disastrous start to the campaign when they suffered a 0-7 mauling against mighty Australia in their group opener in Melbourne, while Lebanon, who are 79 places ahead of Bangladesh (183rd) in the current FIFA rankings, played a goalless draw against Palestine in Sharjah on November 16.
