A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh, who drew flake after a photo of him resting feet on the World Cup Trophy went viral.
RTI activist Pandit Keshav of Aligarh filed a written complaint at Delhi Gate police station against Mitchell Marsh alleging that the cricketer has hurt the sentiments of Indians trough such photo. He alleged that this is not only an insult to the coveted trophy alone but also to the honour of 140 crore Indians.
The RTI activist also sent the copy of his police complaint to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur demanding a lifetime ban on Mitchell to play in India and against India elsewhere.
It is to be noted here that after winning the final of the Cricket World Cup 2023 against India by six wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, Australian cricket team all-rounder Mitchell Marsh became a topic of major controversy as one of his pictures going viral on social media. In the photo, he can be seen resting his feet on the World Cup trophy.
