Bangladesh U-19 team beat Nepal by five wickets in their first Super Six Group 1 match of the ongoing ICC U-19 Men’s World Cup at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Wednesday.
With this, Bangladesh team has kept alive their semifinal hopes.
Nepal managed 169 runs in 49.5 overs with loss of all wickets. In replay, Bangladesh reached 170-5 in just 25.2 overs.
In-form batsman Ariful Islam struck an unbeaten 59 runs while opener Jishan Alam made 55 runs.
Nepal’s Subash Bhandari took all five wickets in Bangladesh innings.
The junior Tigers now need to beat Pakistan in their last Super Six game by a big margin at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni on Saturday in order to book their place in the last four.
