Australia have announced their 15-man provisional squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 and Mitch Marsh will captain.
Exciting young prospect Jake Fraser-McGurk has also failed to make the cut as the 2021 T20 World Cup champions with the veteran David Warner set to partner Travis Head at the top of the order.
Australia have also included allrounder Marcus Stoinis who wasn’t given a national contract but impressed enough through his form in IPL 2024 for the Lucknow Super Giants to merit a look in.
They are taking two wicketkeepers for the marquee event including Matthew Wade and Josh Inglis. The spin department will be spearheaded by Adam Zampa who will have Ashton Agar for company.
Cummins and Mitchell Starc lead their pace attack alongside Josh Hazlwood and Nathan Ellis.
