Sri Lanka`s head coach resigns

Sri Lanka has had a poor performance in the T20 World Cup this year. The Sri Lanka team left the group stage. Chris Silverwood, the head coach Sri Lanka team has resigned from his post citing personal reasons.
"Being an international coach means long periods away from loved ones. After lengthy conversations with my family and with a heavy heart, I feel it is now time for me to return home." Silverwood was quoted as saying in SLC's release.
He also said, "It has been a real honour for me to be part of Sri Lanka Cricket and I will be taking away many fond memories."
Silverwood became the head coach of Sri Lanka in April 2022. Under his guidance, the Sri Lankan national team won the T20 Asia Cup-2022. His team also played the final of the ODI Asia Cup the following year.
