Brazil into Copa America quarters after sharing points

Brazil failed to win their last match in the 'D' group of the Copa America. They played out an action-packed 1-1 draw with the group champion Colombia.

By sharing the points, Brazil has placed behind Costa Rica in the quarter finals. With this, Seleção made it to the Copa America for the 34th time.

Colombia is at the top of the points table with 7 points and plus 4 goals from 3 matches. Brazil is in second position with 5 points and plus 3 goals from same matches. Taking four points, Costa Rica is in third position.

A frantic first fifteen minutes at Levi's Stadium saw Colombia go within inches of scoring after James Rodriguez hit the crossbar, before Raphinha whipped a sublime free kick into the top corner to give Brazil the lead in the 12th minute.

Colombia had a Davinson Sanchez goal disallowed for offside before striker Jhon Cordoba's brilliant through ball was rifled into the net by Daniel Munoz to level the scores in first-half stoppage time.

Brazil, a team so accustomed to chasing championships in this event, faces a tougher road without a win against Colombia.
