Protesters urge all to observe ‘complete shutdown’ peacefully

The quota reform protesters will observe a 'complete' nationwide shutdown today. The central committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement urged all to observe the program peacefully.

In a press notification, the organization said that police-BGB-Chhatra League have jointly attacked the logical and fair movement of quota reforms and tried to suppress the movement.

Although the student movement was spontaneous and peaceful, the government did not take any visible action, it said.

It mentioned that so far thousands of students had been injured and as many as six had been killed during the demonstration.

Parents, teachers and citizens from all walks of life are urged to join the movement for the safety of students, the central coordination team said.
