Google Doodle marks start of Paris Olympics 2024

Google lit up the digital sky with an animated Doodle celebrating the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris on Friday. 

This year, the City of Light shimmers with innovation and tradition, as the grand opening ceremony unfolds not in a stadium, but along the historic Seine in Paris.

On the doodle, animated characters as athletes drift down merrily on the Seine, capturing the moment. It’s a delightful dance of colours and motion, echoing the spirit of unity and excitement that defines the Olympic Games.

While the competition began two days before the opening ceremony, a grand parade of athletes from over 200 countries, followed by the iconic lighting of the Olympic cauldron, will be the highlight of the day.
