Mahmudullah announces retirement from T20Is

Bangladesh cricketer Mahmudullah Riyad has announced his retirement from T20Is.

The all-rounder made the announcement in the pre-match press conference ahead of the second T20I against India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday (October 8).

He said that he took the decision, after consulting with his family and Bangladesh Cricket Board.

Although the 38-year-old announced his retirement today but, he will play the second and third T20 matches against India.

Mahmudullah debuted in the T20 format in 2007 against Kenya. He played 139 matches in the longest tour of this format, which is the highest among Bangladesh.

He scored 2,395 runs at an average of 23.48 and strike rate of 117.74.
