Two workers die while working in septic tank in Savar

Two workers have died while working in an under-construction septic tank in Savar upazila of Dhaka.

The incident took place on Friday morning in South Meitka area of Hemayetpur in Tetuljhora union.  

The deceased were Anisul, 36, and Saiful, 43.

They had been working as construction workers and living in a rented house in Vakurta union.

According to witnesses, Anisul entered the septic tank to work in the morning. When he did not respond despite being called repeatedly, Saiful went inside to check on him. Soon there were no responses from him either. Locals subsequently informed the Fire Service.

Fire Service personnel took them to Savar Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead.
