Mushfiqur ruled out of two ODIs against Afghanistan

Bangladesh suffered a 92-run defeat against  Afghanistan in the three-match ODI series opener at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Mushfiqur Rahim scored just 1 off 3 balls before being baffled by a carom delivery of Afghanistan teenage offspinner Mohammad Ghazanfar who ripped through Bangladesh batting line up with 6-26.

The second and third matches are on November 9 and 11.

The veteran wicket-keeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim was ruled out of the two remaining matches after sustaining a finger injury in Wednesday's first match.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) issued a press release in this regard on Thursday.

An X-ray after the match has confirmed a fracture on his left Index near the DIP joint. He is under conservative management and is not available for the second and third ODIs.

Further updates on his condition and expected recovery period will be provided in due course, sources said.

This was the first time since 2015 World Cup that Mushfiqur Rahim came to bat at No.7 position.
