Bangladesh bowlers delivered a superb performance, successfully defending a modest total of 129 for 7 to bowl the West Indies out for 102, securing a 27-run victory in the second T20I and claiming their first-ever T20I series win in the West Indies.
Bangladesh have won a T20I series against West Indies before, back in 2018 but two of the three T20Is which Bangladesh won to seal the series, were played in USA’s Florida.
Taskin Ahmed set the tone with a double strike in his opening over, while Mahedi Hasan capitalized on the new ball to put the Windies in trouble during the powerplay.
Contributions from the remaining pacers, along with Rishad Hossain's two crucial wickets in the 17th over, helped the Tigers reach the brink of victory.
Taskin sealed the win by dismissing Akeal Hosein for 32, as Bangladesh took an unassailable 2-0 lead with one match remaining.
Brief scores:
Bangladesh 129-7 off 20 overs (Shamim Hossain 35 n.o., Mehidy Hasan Miraz 26, Jaker Ali 21; Gudakesh Motie 2-25, Roston Chase 1-8, Akeal Hosein 1-16) vs West Indies 102 all out off 18.3 overs (Roston Chase 32, Akeal Hosein 31, Johnson Charles 14; Taskin Ahmed 3-16, Rishad Hossain 2-12, Mahedi Hasan 2-20)
